Armistice Day Poems

The peaceful cemetery
                      Peace and rest
                      Scary things that happened
                      Brave men have sacrifice
                      There lives. People risking things
That is very difficult for them.
                      Worried man that are thinking
                      About there families.
                      By Benjamin.
The nameless headstones
Peace and rest
Worried  soldiers
Fire arms strong and mighty
Nameless headstones
Love and  passion
Risked their lives
Now in peace
Graves with no decorations
Just headstones

We enjoyed visiting the Cannons Creek Library. Gina told us how the library works and read us some great stories.

Peach Boy Books

We made our own picture books and shared them with Room 3.

They were excellent listeners.

Experience Japan!

We had a fun afternoon on Friday. It was our chance to experience Japanese culture.
It was good to cross group with other classes and go try the different aspects of Japanese culture.
We liked making carp fish kites, eating with chop sticks and learning to speak Japanese. Not too sure about the taste of seaweed though.

You can go to North City Plaza and see our display as Russell School is a part of ‘Team Japan’ during the Rugby World Cup.

Room 3 and 11 Rocks the Concert

We did the 'Great Big Moose' song and our actions made the audience laugh.
The best part of 'O Canada' was when we saluted at the end.

Life in Room 11

One Discovery Time goal we have is
‘I can co-operate with others’.

During Kia Kaha with Constable Ian we made yummy coconut ice.
Most of us are still learning how to let people do their jobs and that each job is important.

Every Monday afternoon Whaea Meralyn comes to teach us during Bible in Schools time. She is taking us on a trip through the bible and we love learning a new part of a rap each week.
